The Forwarding Begins

I've decided to forward legitimate emails sent to me to other Emily.   I'm pretty sure the address is owned by the Seattle one.  So that's receipts and tax donations.

Sunday, December 25, 2016

Charlotte Russe

Another list, another day.  This Emily used nonstandard dots in the email address.   Or maybe it was an Emil Y.  Unsubscribed.

A Protozoan Mystery

Best Jobs

I got a reminder to update a resume.   I reset the password and opened the account.   This Emily is searching for employment and is currently a grocery sales lady in the Philippines.   Pro tip: A selfie is not the best choice for a resume profile image.   Also, you will never get job notifications if you use the wrong email address.   Account closed.

Lilly Lashes

I was told to go back and complete my shopping cart for some fake lashes.   The name attached to my email address was BABSNsjshwbbbej Hygeh.  If they had really wanted to finish an order, I think a real name would be useful.

I may eventually need to eventually create my own Snapchat account to block all these account creations.

Spanish vaccine

I got an email in Spanish to vaccinate children.  Found the unsubscribe button.

Fast Signs and the HOA

Other Emily needed signs for her Homeowners' Association in Lakewood, Colorado.   She must have given them my email address over the phone.   I got some lovely price quotes.

Overstock.com

Other Emily went shopping at Overstock.com.   I guess she doesn't care for these coupons then.

Nordstrom Rack at East Bay Center

A different Emily went shopping.   She returned some shoes and got a new sweater.  I have her receipt.   There isn't anything I can do about this one.

Carlos and the Thesis

I think what I was shared today is someone's thesis.   In Spanish.   I emailed that I didn't know what it was.   I got not one, but two emails from Carlos.

Elena at Zorpia

I have an auntie named Elena, but I doubt she'd be asking me to install a new app and give my email account all permissions.   Ignoring this one.

emg____0726

I got a new email address in English!   I'm shocked and amazed.   Much easier to disconnect when you can read it.

Tuesday, September 20, 2016

PreciouStatus

I never signed up for this service.   I got 8 updates on this baby called Audrey at a day care.   Positively inane minutiae.   When she peed.   When she woke up.  What she ate.  I emailed back, "Unsubscribe me.   Whose kid is this?" It seemed to work.

eg4304747

This is the second new email address created in two weeks.   Again, in Spanish.   I emailed the address.   Well see what happens.

BPI Online

Is it really so hard to get your won email address to do online banking?   From the sound of this email, the Emily needs to physically mail something to activate the account.   That's not going to happen now.   I emailed customer support buy no response yet.

Tuesday, August 2, 2016

Hulu

I didn't realize an account was opened by a 13 year old for my email address until I was notified of a change in Hulu terms.   I reset the password and closed the account.

Autumn's Friend

I got more pictures from that Samsung Camera.   This time there was an additional email address and I was able to contact someone.   lately, when I get these mistaken identity cases, I give them this blog address.

Emma

A girl named Emma used my email address to sign up for a Magisto account.  It's apparently for making movies. I ignored the email.

Emelia's Credit Report

I don't know how dumb you have to be to have something as important as your credit report sent to the wrong email address.    To be fair, it's not the whole report.   I'd need the social security number in order to claim it.  However, I can't get off the mailing list because there is no unsubscribe button.

Saturday, July 9, 2016

LinkedIn

You would think that using a professional network like LinkedIn would behoove awareness of one's own email address.   Not in this case.   Account closed.

TextNow.com

No clue as to where she was from, but her name was Mari.   The password is now changed and I entered a random email address.

Wattpad

I got an email to activate a Wattpad account the other day.   It's apparently a free book service.   Good luck getting your reading material when you don't own the email address you subscribed with!   Maybe they should read directions.

Seattle Emily

I have been having an interesting email conversation with Emily in Seattle's neighbor.   I received an email telling me that wine was being delivered to her address.   Several clarification emails later, I find that Emily and her husband Carlos have graced my file before, going back to before I started this blog.

Hope you guys have a fun get together with your bottle of wine!

Emily3567

Another Emily got onto a forum to ask about a cell phone.   She wasn't sure what the phone was packaged with.   I was not impressed with her grammar.

"With the iphone se do you get like a charger and everything with it"

If this is a new phone from a carrier, yes it should come with a charger.

Saturday, May 28, 2016

I got a Netflix account assigned to my email address this morning.   It was in Spanish.  I changed the password then swapped the language to English.   No personal information or billing information found.    Netflix accounts can't be deleted, so I made up a new email address and saved the profile.   Done.

Thursday, April 7, 2016

Gap Factory

I don't usually shop at the Gap, let alone a factory outlet.   Nope.  Unsubscribed.

emilyf5166

This Emily's Instagram account is set to private.  She's on strike one.   If she adds my address back, I'll close it from inside.

Wells Fargo

Another day, another bank account.   I don't think I can do anything about this one because I would need a username and social security number to do a password reset.   If I get anything weird, I suppose I can call customer service.

Friday, March 18, 2016

Emily Dayana

I already have a Pinterest account but this morning I got a confirmation, in Spanish, for a new account.  I disconnected my email address.   The service cheerfully reminded me that I was now free to use that email address to register an account for myself.   I suppose I could double register for the sites I go to, digitally taking up the space that people want to use.  But that's a lot of accounts and doesn't get the rest of the internet.   I'll just keep blogging about it.

Pottermore

I got an email asking to confirm my Pottermore account.   I was able to close it.  It served as a reminder to reregister my account because of the website's format change.   I was able to get all my stats back too.   I'm excited to read the new content J.K. Rowling is putting out.

A person going by the name of Lee set up a tutoring account.   She goes to Graham High with no listed graduation date.   I'm closing the account.

I got an email to provide feedback on some technical support someone linked to my email address.   I did a password reset.  Apple is pretty important.   I talked to customer service and I said I would try to contact them.   They live in California and were born in 1991.  I left them a phone message.

14 emails in a 3 days

I was originally going to write each of these messages up separately, but alas they are too numerous.   Other Emily has been busy.  She wants an iPad, apparently has children, is in need of MAC brand makeup and a stroller, and wants money now.  Maybe it's for her prison admirer.  I have received mail from the following senders:

  • InboxPays - This has apparently spread my email address to multiple sites.  Unconfirmed.
  • MindsPay Panel - I'll apparently get 3 whole dollars to activate this account.  How about no?
  • Leon G. - Some sort of government loans scam looking thing.
  • Baby PromoItems - I can get paid $95.75 per hour to use Google?   Really?
  • Click4Riches - This email promises $350 bucks to click on a link.  It compliments on clicking ability.
  • Mommy's Freebies - This email promises 1 of 3 brand names strollers free to a "select few."
  • Click4Riches - This one promises a $75 Walmart card.
  • InboxCanEarn - A "Pepsi" survery.  Name your favorite soda to get $100!
  • PopularInboxMail - Confirmed mailing of 1 iPad Air!  If you click the prompts.  Then it's not mailed.  Liars!
  • PandaResearchReview - I have no idea what panda research has to do with free Yankee candles.
  • Deals4NewMoms - This one offers daycare tips plus a $500 Macy's gift card.
  • Deals4NewMoms - This one offers free MAC makeup samples and beauty tips.
  • GuidetoLenders - This mail is apparently an opt-in ad for home loans.  Emily put her name as consumer. TX
  • PandaStudy - I have no idea about this one.   Playing cards and pandas equals profit.  See image below.

GettingOut

I got this email today from a prison telecommunication system.  This is likely an honest mistake by another Emily to communicate with a family member behind bars.   I have unsubscribed from communication from any additional inmates.

What is GettingOut?
GettingOut is a service brought to you by Telmate. It’s designed to make it simple for friends & family to connect with inmates by phone, video visits, voicemail, messaging, sharing photo and more!

sandramiller

I got this email promising an easy and fulfilling job.   It doesn't list the company name or sources. A bright shiny advertisement with no identifying marks whatsoever.  Spam folder.

Monday, February 15, 2016

Ulta

I got an email for a company I already shop with.   Other Emily signed up using my email address minus the dot.  In theory, I could wait for her rewards points to roll in, but I don't like getting double emails.   Also, her closest store is someplace in Oklahoma City.

Dr. Brian H.

I got a thank you letter for being a patient at an endodontics office in California.   I wrote back that it was the wrong email address.   This could very well have contained sensitive medical information.   I hope it was an honest mistake.

rigo_got_guap

This appear's to be a preteen's Instagram account.   I removed my email address once.  IT got put back again.   If it happens a third time, I'll take over the account and close it from the inside.   It's a shame.  The account has 38 followers.

Prezi

I just closed a Prezi account that was opened for my email account.   There wasn't a way to remove my address, so I reset the password and closed the account.   There wasn't any contact information in there to give me an idea about its creator.  Was it a student or a business person?   Who knows!?

emily_[samelastname]ss

Another day, another Instagram account.  I suspect the last two accounts are the same individual.   I removed my email address, so we'll see what happens next.

Wednesday, January 27, 2016

emily6822 & emily_[samelastname]

I got three Instagram notifications very close to one another last week.   They were obviously name changes to one account.   Nothing was in them.  I removed my email address.

datgirl31

I can put together an interesting narrative with all the weird emails I've gotten lately.   The most recent one is from Snapchat.   I imagine that this Emily (if all accounts are created by the same person) originally needed a new email account.  She wanted to participate in illicit activities on Snapchat, which later led to the need for medical advice (no matter how sketchy).   Those activities are discovered by her partner, and now she in need of a divorce lawyer.   Yup. I've definitely worked this all out.

Square receipt for a Lawyer

This morning I got an emailed receipt for legal services from an attorney in Oklahoma.   I have never heard of a lawyer using Square payments before.   It was a large bill too.   $500.   I was able to disassociate the account from my email address. I also have the other Emily's last four digits for her credit card.

Curely, again

Another email from Curely.   This latest Emily sure is bent on getting health advice.   Unsubscribed.

Wholesomejoy

I've worked with urologists, and the following is definitely not the way to clean a kidney:

"Dear friends

Cleaning kidneys with less than $1

Years pass by and our kidneys are filtering the blood by removing salt, poison and any unwanted substance entering our body. With time, the salt accumulates and this needs to undergo cleaning treatments.

How are we going to do this?
It is very easy, first take a bunch of parsley and wash it clean.

Then cut it in small pieces and put it in a pot and pour clean water and boil it for ten minutes and let it cool down and then filter it and pour in a clean bottle and keep it inside refrigerator to cool.

Drink it regularly to keep our kidneys clean."

Unsubscribed.

Free-eBooks.net

I got an email this morning about an online company that lets you read 5 e-books every month for free in any format.  This does sound like something I would sign up for.  However, this email was in Spanish.  There wasn't an unsubscribe button.  Fortunately for me, I was able to log into the English version of the site and close down the account.
